Last night we had 12 people travel to the Shawnee Swingers and attend their "Mayberry Dance" with Mike calling. It was a fun dance with about 8 squares on the floor.
Our 60th Anniversary Dance is on May 21st. The theme is "All About Mike" - it is his 20th year calling for our club. Charlie and Doug are hosting. We are just getting organized and starting to thing about the activities for the dance. We know we will have a picture show for the year in review. Some roasting of Mike (I need ideas here!!!). And a special thank you to Mike...
This dance will also have our food drive. Please bring cans of food - highest needs are spring & summer, non-perishable, non-expired. Consistently needed items- personal hygiene items, canned fruit, applesauce & peanut butter. No green beans or corn please.
Sunday night the executive board meets to start getting organized around the 2016-2017 dance season. We will review the surveys that people have sent us at that time about how things went last year (we have about 10 surveys) and what people would like to see be done different. Sandy and I and the board are very open to suggestions as to how we might do things differently to enable us to grow while maintaining as much of our heritage and tradition as possible. There is still time to send in your survey if you want.
