Hosting the Tenderfoot Dance
The Docey Dandies have been asked to host the Tenderfoot Dance NE District at Croco Hall in Topeka. The date is March 19, 2017 (a Sunday) at 2:00 p.m. Hosting involves setting up the hall with decorations and taking them down (they already have them). Last year the new dancers from the club indicated they really enjoyed this dance. I would like the club to host this dance. We could carpool with our new dancers to encourage them to attend. I am inclined to not have a club meeting to just discuss this. Anyone have a concern about us hosting this dance?
“Ask Me to Dance” Program
My foot has progressed to the point where I can dance again (yeah!). I will be volunteering to help out with the “Ask Me to Dance” program which has been going very well so far. Please consider also volunteering to help as we want to make sure people without partners have a chance to get out on the floor and enjoy dancing to Mike’s calling.
Travel Chair
We had 18 Docey Dandies at the Ottawa Promenader’s pig roast last Saturday. Good food and great calling made for a very enjoyable night.
We will be travelling to the Live Wires this Friday. A carpool from the ACE hardware store at 135th st will head on over to Belton at 6:30 so we can be there in time to make the 7:00 Workshop.
Location - Belton Christian Church, 409 Airway Lane (Airway Lane & Westover Road), Belton, Mo.
Time – 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM Mainstream/Plus/Lines, Workshop 7:00 PM
Caller – Peery Lindsey
Theme – Veterans’ Day Dance
Doug’s comments: Need to retrieve our banner!.
Docey Dandies “All Aboard!” Train Dance
This weekend we have our “All Aboard!” Train Dance. There will be lessons before the dance so no Plus workshop. Mike will call two student friendly Tips at the beginning of the dance for the students. Please be sure to greet our new students with a smile and make them feel welcome!
Check out the bathrooms at the Grange Hall when you come to the dance. Daryl, Leslie, Loran and others have been hard at work replacing the tile and spiffing them up! They look great! Be sure to thank them for volunteering their time to make this happen!
The improvements to the Grange building have cost the Grange well over $1000. They have made some Peanut Brittle and are selling it as a way to help pay for the improvements. The bags are 1 lb. in size and cost $10. If you are interested in some great Peanut Brittle please consider buying some at the dance this Saturday.
