President’s Report: We have another fun filled year ahead of us with a lot of great dances and activities scheduled. If you have any ideas you would like to see the club participate in, please let us know as we are always looking to do new and exciting fun things. This does not have to be dancing related and we can help with some of the planning if needed.
DUES: Reminder that club dues are due now. If you haven’t already, please pay Ken or Suzann as we need to get our club paperwork sent into the HOA and KSDA right after our October 14 dance. Forms are available at our lessons on Tuesdays and our regular club dances. If you want or need a new badge, let Ken know and you must pay in advance. We will be ordering badges the week of October 16.
HOA Fed Facts and the KSDA membership forms are available from Ken & Suzann. By joining the KSDA you get the Travel On Magazine along with discounts at KSDA/NEKSDA dances and information on all the Kansas clubs activities.
The HOA Fed Facts has been a big supporter of the Docey Dandies with several recent articles and pictures of our club activities which you cannot see on the internet. There is also information in this publication for all the area cub’s activities in the Greater Kansas City Area.
LESSONS: Tonight, is the last night to bring in new students. Our first potluck dance is next Tuesday October 10. If you have anyone interested, try your best to bring them tonight. Our next set of lessons will start in January 2018
LIVE BAND DANCE: It’s almost here! October 28th at the larger 4-H Building across the parking lot from the Grange. We ask everyone to bring a finger food dish (or 2) for this dance as we will not plan to have forks or other utensils available. We had just over 200 people at our last live band dance and expect about the same this year. This is a big dance for our club with Diane, Lynda and their committee working hard for us to have a successful dance. Mike is working with the band to fine tune the music choices and have a fun dance for all!
Baldwin City Maple Leaf Parade: The Docey Dandies along with the Ottawa Promenaders will again participate in the Maple Leaf Parade in Baldwin City. Lynda and Greg have the dancers lined up but if you want to try dancing on the float, let Lynda know as this will be the last opportunity this year! The date is Saturday October 21st, 10:30am, see Lynda for additional details.
